Do Seek Their Meat From God

The short story "Do Seek Their Meat From God" by Charles Roberts, received it's title from the Bible: Psalm 104. In Psalm of the Bible, the poet talks about how God is the creator of all things. In Psalm, a youthful lion comes out at night that roars at God as if he, the lion, commands God to give him meat. The source of the roar is exemplified as hunger. Later, as the sun comes up, the lion goes back to his cave to hide. The poet in Psalm 104 uses the lion as an icon of ulmitate power on Earth and shows that even a powerful creature like the lion has to go back to his cave when dawn comes because the creator, God, has made it that way. This poem from Psalm ties back to the short story "Do Seek Their Meat From God" because the panther is much like the lion in Psalm. The panther comes out to hunt at night just like the lion in Psalm. The panther also roars because of his hunger much like the lion. The sources of the end for the panther differs from that of te lion in that a man rather than God ends the hunt but, it is the end all the same. In context of the short story "Do Seek Their Meat From God", the title matches well with Psalm of the Bible.
